  • 30lb - The perfect stiffness for a single post weedguard. Use a pair of pliers to crimp 1/8” of one end. This will create ridges in monofilament for your thread to grip and will also reduce the bulk at the head of the fly when tying it in.

  • 20lb - A popular choice for tying in tail guards (foul guards), double post weedguards, making your own mono shrimp eyes, and adding beads to keel the fly.
